Ads

This week we focused our time on editing the google ads that we created last week by incorporating more key words, making sure that we were meeting word counts, and creating phrases that would encourage a consumer to click.       One of the biggest issues that I noticed with my personal ads was that I originally had little to no call to action.  Having no call to action can be fatal in the marketing world.  Customers need some sort of prompt or direction about what it is that they need to do in order to receive the service.  After I fixed this issue by creating more directive phrases, I made sure that those phrases were using up more of the character count than I originally was.  With 30 characters being allowed for each header, and 90 being allowed in the description, I made sure that I was utilizing all of it so that my ads could be as descriptive as possible.

Google Ads and Keywords

This week we learned about Google Ads and keywords so that we could work on the marketing and SEO for our websites.  Figuring out how to get Google Ads to work was somewhat difficult for me, however, I was able to figure it out, even on a budget.  Hopefully, having this under my belt I will be able to boost traffic through my site.        In tandem with learning how starting a campaign on Google Ads works, we also learned a little about SEO and how keywords play into that.  After learning about the importance of these keywords, I am looking forward to updating my site so that more people will be able to see it come up in their searches.  With a better understanding of both of these topics, I look forward to applying them to my site so that I will be able to have a more educational experience.

Legal Structure

This week we learned about the legal structure of running an online business.   This structure is one that is vital to understand if any specific business, small or big, physical, or online, needs to understand if they plan on being successful.   As I have continued to create my own online business as a sole proprietorship, I have been learning about the benefits and cons of this structure.   One of the biggest benefits that I have noticed is that I can make the decisions myself without the need of anyone else.   However, the issue with this is, the responsibility of running a transparent and tax system obedient business rests squarely on my shoulders.   If there was ever any issue to arise, I would be the one to blame.   However, on the flipside since I would be in charge, I would be able to ensure that anything along those lines would never happen.   I look forward to learning more about what I can do to make sure my busi...

Building My Website

This week we got to start working on our websites.   My original plan was to use weebly.com for my site builder.   However, as I began to use their program, I felt more limited and stuck than I thought I would feel.   Because of this experience, I decided to use WordPress through Blue Host.   This way I get both a hosting service and a website builder.   I understand that using WordPress can be a little more difficult and time consuming, but at the same time I really like the idea of having such easy and direct access to my hosting service.   Doing this will enable me to be able to streamline the process of reserving space on the internet and being able to really get my website going.   Overall, the experience of building my first website is going really well and I am very excited to see where it will go.
